I’ve been working with photography, video, computers, and websites for decades, but what interests me most is using technology to help people tell their stories. Through VideosByGarth, I create and edit videos for individuals, families, churches, and community organizations—everything from short web videos and special events to longer documentary and historical projects.

Much of my recent work has involved preserving stories that might otherwise be lost: restoring and editing old family films, combining photographs and archival material with narration and music, and turning them into something families can enjoy and share today. I also produce weekly video material for Unity of Salem and help clients integrate video into their websites and online projects.

I believe the best video isn’t necessarily the one with the fanciest effects. It’s the one that communicates something worth remembering. My goal is to make the technology disappear into the background and let the people, memories, and ideas tell the story.
